(Junior) Sustainability Assurance Analyst

Hours: Fulltime, 40 hours
Location: Rotterdam, The Netherlands

The Position

As a Junior Sustainability Assurance Analyst, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with (inter)national legislation regarding the incorporation of renewable fuels into mineral oils. You will work closely with the Sustainability Assurance team and other departments to maintain accurate biofuel administrations and ensure timely submission of reports to the relevant authorities. Your role includes verifying the sustainability documentation and contributing to the improvement of internal processes.

 You will join an experienced Sustainability Assurance team and report to the Sustainability Assurance Sustainability Assurance Teamlead. The Sustainability Assurance team is represented in VAROPreem offices in Rotterdam Netherlands and Hamburg Germany.

• Compile internal reports on biofuel flows within VAROPreem’s network;

• Ensure timely submission of sustainability documentation for clients;

• Cooperate with suppliers to ensure compliance with biofuel administration requirements;

• Participate in regulatory audits for successful certification;

• Support the submission of biofuel reports to national authorities;

• Monitor biofuel processes and suggest improvements;

• Signal risks related to biofuel transactions and recommend necessary internal controls. framework.

Your Profile

• A Master’s degree in Business Economics, Accounting & Controlling, Sustainability, Finance, or a related field is considered an advantage;

• Experience with reporting is preferred, while familiarity with legal or regulatory frameworks and/or commodity markets is a plus;

• Excellent command of English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of Dutch, German, or French is beneficial;

• Affinity with ERP systems and the ability to work confidently with digital tools;

• A responsible, reliable, and detail-oriented approach, with a strong focus on accuracy and quality;

• A collaborative team player who enjoys working with colleagues across different functions;

• Proactive, results-driven, and eager to take ownership of tasks and responsibilities;

• Motivated to continuously learn, develop new skills, and grow within the field of sustainability assurance;

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
