We are looking for an enthusiastic Trade Accountant to join our Financial Accounting team in our Rotterdam office.

THE POSITION

As Trade Accountant you will be part of the BLX Financial Accounting team based in Rotterdam. The team works closely with other teams based in Rotterdam (Business Control, Risk, Front and Back office) but also with similar teams based in Hamburg (DE) and Baar (CH).

To further strengthen the team and improve the quality of our accounting process, we are looking for a Trade Accountant who is eager to elevate our trade accounting processes and play a key role in strengthening our financial data.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure trading results are accurately captured in our ledgers during closing cycles;
Keep our trading systems clean, efficient, and audit-ready;
Execute monthly internal controls within our robust Internal Control Framework;
Be the go-to expert for internal and external audit queries;
Lead and support finance improvement initiatives across the Varo organization.

YOUR PROFILE

5+ years of hands-on financial accounting experience, ideally within the energy sector;
Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field;
Solid understanding of the commodities trading landscape;
Deep expertise in accounting, month-end closings, and audit processes;
Fluency in English and Dutch—both spoken and written.
