Commercial Contracts Specialist

Hours:
Parttime, 24-32 hours

The Position

As a Commercial Contracts Specialist, you will join VAROPreem’s Demurrage team as the go-to person for contract-related topics within our trading and shipping activities. In this role, you focus on interpreting, applying and improving contractual frameworks that support day-to-day operations. You will be responsible for handling incoming and outgoing contracts, ensuring they are processed accurately, efficiently, and in line with internal procedures and regulations. In your day-to-day work, you will review, process and manage commercial contracts within the VAROPreem group. While experience with contracts is important, this expertise will also be developed on the job. What matters most is your eagerness to learn, eye for detail, and your ability to structure and manage complex information.

You will be involved in our strategic decisions about sourcing, blending and provide the input on your part of expertise. Collaboration is key to get the best results over the whole supply chain, so you will work together with colleagues from other departments in the Netherlands, Germany and/or Switzerland. This is why teamwork and communication are essential to achieving the best possible results across the supply chain. In addition, you will play an active role in identifying opportunities to improve processes and optimize guidelines within the Supply Chain, helping to drive efficiency and continuous improvement.

Your Profile

  • MBO level education with several years of experience within a Supply Chain environment;

  • Affinity with or knowledge of logistics is a plus;

  • Fluent in Dutch and English, both written and verbal;

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with various stakeholders;

  • Accurate, structured, and detail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership;

  • Stress-resistant and able to perform under time pressure;

  • Proactive, eager to learn, and driven to improve processes;

  • Strong negotiation skills are a plus;

  • A true team player: flexible, energetic, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, international environment.

Our Offer

  • A professional and very well-connected work environment with a young and international team in a growing company, on the cutting edge of the energy transition;

  • Contributing to excellent work delivered by the team, where quality and team spirit are key;

  • Learn from inspiring and exciting areas that intend to change the way the world applies energy;

  • An attractive workplace in the office in Rotterdam with development opportunities within an international, corporate environment;

  • Attractive salary structures, as well as a (partly) employer-financed pension and bike plan etc.;
