VAROPreem is establishing integrated end-to-end value chain optimization capabilities to align conventional and sustainable fuels across manufacturing hubs and markets. To enable this transformation, we are looking for a Program Manager (m/f/x) Value Chain Optimization (Bio & Conventional Fuels) who will set up and implement structured planning processes, governance frameworks, and LP-based optimization tools.

This is a temporary, outcome-driven role with a clear mandate: design and operationalize sustainable optimization capabilities and ensure a structured handover to business-as-usual operations. The program is expected to run for approximately 18–24 months. During this time, you will work across manufacturing, supply, trading, logistics, and commercial functions, driving alignment, tool implementation, and adoption. The depth of exposure across the value chain will position you strongly for future opportunities within VAROPreem.

Your Key Responsibilities

·       Lead the end-to-end setup of the Value Chain Optimization program

·       Define scope, milestones, deliverables, and interdependencies across workstreams

·       Manage timelines, risks, and cross-functional coordination

·       Design and implement integrated end-to-end value chain planning processes

·       Align bio and conventional fuel planning across hubs and markets

·       Define governance structures, decision-making frameworks, and planning cadence

·       Coordinate the design and deployment of LP-based planning and optimization models

·       Translate business requirements into functional specifications

·       Act as interface between business users, optimization experts, IT, and external vendors

·       Drive stakeholder alignment and adoption through workshops and structured communication

·       Establish documentation, playbooks, and standard operating procedures

·       Ensure structured handover to permanent business owners and define continuous improvement mechanisms

Your Profile

·       Strong project or program management experience in complex, cross-functional environments

·       Solid understanding of value chains, planning, or optimization within energy, commodities, or industrial settings

·       Experience with planning tools and LP-based models is a strong advantage

·       Proven track record in setting up new processes and governance structures

·       Ability to manage senior stakeholders and drive alignment across functions and geographies

·       Structured, analytical, and delivery-focused mindset

·       Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business language

·       High level of ownership and resilience in transformation environments

·       Business fluent German and English language skills (written and spoken)

Further Knowledge

·       Familiarity with manufacturing, supply, trading, or logistics processes in energy markets

·       Understanding of optimization methodologies and LP modeling principles

·       Experience in change management and business adoption initiatives

·       Exposure to sustainable fuels and integrated energy value chains

·       Knowledge of governance design and operational handover frameworks
